It will show up in smaller pieces through ethics opinions, court rules, contracts, vendor terms, and client demands. Firms that already know where AI touches their practice, how it is supervised, and how it is documented will be in a far better position than firms waiting for perfect guidance.

    Lawyers often ask a simple question about artificial intelligence in legal practice: when will there be real regulation. The honest answer is that regulation is already forming, but it is arriving through a patchwork of sources rather than a single statute or model rule.
